Unlocking Innovative Solutions in Semiconductor and Biotechnology Product Development
Our lives are filled with products that were unavailable and unimaginable to humankind 100 years ago. Large part of this change can be credited to successful development of products that were revolutionary and innovative at their time or conception. These types of products are collectively known as deep tech. In our current world, semiconductor and biotechnology are 2 major deep techs that are driving innovations.
Deep tech are revolutionary but they are also challenging. Many entreprenuering spirits embarked on journeys to develop products based upon deep tech but eventually failed. This is because deep tech is so novel and complex that till date there isn't a product development playbook to refer to. R&D projects are fraught with technological related issues internally. The novelty factor becomes a challenge when faced with external market skepticism.
The good news is that there can be a method to the madness. While products might differ in technology and market, a set of broadly defined product development concepts can be applied to all of them. I am a scientist/engineer turn product development expert and I dislike waste. The series of articles and examples provided on this site can serve as a framework for how products can be developed optimally to minimise waste. Whether you are embarking on 0-to-1 product development for the first time or trying to rein in a runaway project that has ballooned beyond its scope, there should be resources in this site to set you on a better path.
For deeper discussions regarding specific use-cases and product development, I am ready to collaborate on your next project, whether it involves refining existing technologies or spearheading groundbreaking innovations in bioMEMS. I can be reached via email.
